Nokia corp. (NYSE: NOK) announces Symbian Belle and five new phones

Nokia corp. (NYSE: NOK) announces Symbian Belle and five new phones - Nokia has announced the latest update for the Symbian operating system and five new phones.

The Nokia 700, 701 and 600 will run the latest version of the operating system, Symbian Belle, while the Nokia 100 and 101 will be basic, affordable devices.

Symbian Belle
Symbian Belle is the latest update to Nokia’s doomed operating system. The new incarnation offers a host of new features: one-tap NFC sharing and pairing; an increase to six customisable home pages; the ability to use different sized widgets; a pull down menu for notifications; and an improved web browser.

Of the new handsets, the Nokia 700 isn’t just Nokia’s smallest smartphone, it’s also apparently the ‘most compact touch monoblock smartphone in the world’. High praise indeed.
