Which one Samsung Galaxy Nexus vs Iphone 4S ; Some things ln life just have to happen. Kids have to grow up, car tanks have to be filled with gas, Santa has to put presents in our stockings (thank God phones fit in there!), Lady Gaga has to top the charts, and the Galaxy Nexus has to be compared to the iPhone 4S. It's inevitable! And since we happen to not be so concerned with Gaga, and (most of us) don't have kids yet, how about shifting our focus towards that smartphone comparison thing?

Now that we've closely examined the Galaxy Nexus and the Galaxy S II side by side, and determined that Google's latest and greatest does indeed set new standards with its redesigned software platform and beautiful screen, it seems like the next logical step for us is to set the stage for a nice tactical fight between the new Nexus and the overly-polished iPhone 4S.

Design:

Place these handsets next to each other and it immediately becomes obvious that much more thought has gone into the design and execution of the iPhone 4S. This phone continues to be one of the very best offerings in terms of appearance and construction. Not only does it look beautiful, but it's also made from premium materials like glass and steel – no plastic whatsoever.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy Nexus is a typical Samsung phone, being made from plastic, and having this characteristic bump on the bottom of its back side. It is pretty light for its size, but this doesn't make up for the fact that the handset doesn't have a classy feel when held. Thankfully, it doesn't feel cheap either.

One of the most obvious differentiating factors in terms of design are the dimensions of the Galaxy Nexus and iPhone 4S. Honestly, if you don't like having to carry around a very large smartphone, the iPhone 4S will be the better option due to its significantly more compact body.

On the other hand, the large dimensions of the Nexus allow it to have this giant 4.65” HD Super AMOLED screen, which dwarfs the 3.5” panel of the iPhone 4S. Both screens employ different technologies – on the Nexus there's Super AMOLED, while on the iPhone 4S we have IPS-LCD. Both feature nicely saturated colors and good contrast, although the Nexus leads in this respect. The situation with screen clarity is very interesting. On one hand, the Nexus' has an HD (720x1280) resolution screen, which offers more pixels compared to the iPhone 4S' 640x960 pixel resolution, but in reality, the pixel density on the iPhone 4S is slightly higher at 326 ppi, versus 316 on the Nexus. This is because the screen of the iPhone 4S is much smaller, but still, this difference in pixel density is almost unnoticeable, so both handsets will offer you amazing image quality.

Samsung Celox features a massive 4.5-inch Super AMOLED : Samsung Celox is actually the 4G-LTE look-alike of the Galaxy S2. The smartphone first reared its head in Korea and later its pictures were revealed by Japanese site Amelbo. Although Celox looks more like the Galaxy S2, it is much more than that.

The Celox features a massive 4.5-inch Super AMOLED display with 800x480 screen resolution. It is also expected that the smartphone will be powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon APQ8060 processor.

The Celox is expected to arrive with a built-in Android Gingerbread and will have an 8MP rear-facing camera and a 2MP front-facing camera. The handset, however, is a bit heavier than the Galaxy S2 as it weighs 4.5 oz. and is 0.36-inch thick. The device is expected to be fitted with a 1750 Li-ion battery.

There is also a possibility of 800MHz LTE support and has already been scheduled for a Europe release as both AT&T and Verizon support 700MHz LTE. This news may offer a bit of a head-ache for Apple which is already having a tough time countering other smartphones in the block.

Rumors are rife that iPhone 5 will be powered by the A5 dual-core processor, which currently powers its iPad 2. Although the A5 dual-core chipset can challenge the Galaxy S2 and other NVIDIA Tegra 2 chip-based Android phones in its class, it will still not be able to match the power of dual-core 1.5GHz chipsets.

A previous report stated that Taiwan SemiConductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) had already started a trial production of the Apple A6 line of processors. It was also reported that the TSMC-manufactured A6 chipset would integrate 3D IC technology. Another report said that TSMC is in production with 3D IC technology and is in a race with Intel to manufacture a 3D IC chip. An EETimes report said that TSMC could deliver processors with 3-D interconnect by the end of the year.

The news, if true, could see a further delay in the Apple-made smartphone's arrival. However, a previous report by Computerworld stated that a few Taiwanese suppliers of Apple claimed they were starting the production of about 25 million iPhone 5 units that would be delivered in the second half of this year.

A report about Apple increasing the smartphone's size was also came into existence. It was said that Apple could increase its current iPhone screen-size from 3.5-inches to 3.7-inches. An edge-to edge display, however, was confirmed by many.

Other ongoing rumors suggest that iPhone 5 will feature an 8MP camera with dual-LED flash. Apple, reportedly, has ordered 90 percent of its 8MP camera sensors from OmniVision. On the other hand, the Qualcomm processor which Celox is rumored to sport has the capability to support a 16MP camera and the ability to capture and display 1080p stereoscopic 3D video or 8 megapixel stereoscopic still images.

The most agreed fact is that iPhone 5 will not arrive with 4G LTE-compatibility as that will contradict with Apple's plans of launching a slim smartphone. You'll need a pair of active 3D glasses – and you should be able to get at least one free pair from your reseller – but once you turn on the 3D tech, you'll never want to go back. Images look simply stunning, with a 1920 x 1080-pixel resolution – and movies look larger than life.

Despite the super slim profile, there are loads of ports on the Samsung UE46C8000 3D TV. You'll find 4 HDMI ports, along with 2 Scart ports, 2 USB, DVI and a host of others – supporting both old and new peripherals.

The bad

Samsung doesn't provide two active 3D glasses as standard with the Samsung UE46C8000 3D TV, despite the £1500+ asking price.

The bottom line

If you're in the market for a new TV, the Samsung UE46C8000 3D TV simply has to be on your list. It's gorgeous, feature packed and offers a stunning picture, either in 2D or 3D.
